Ambassador from Bangladesh convenes with expatriate journalists in Malaysia

The Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia held a meeting with expatriate journalists from Bangladeshi TV channels and newspapers. This meeting with Ambassador Shamim Ahsan took place on Friday, February 16, at 5 pm local time in the High Commission's meeting room.
During the meeting, the journalist delegation discussed various issues affecting Bangladeshi expatriates and possible solutions with the Ambassador. Key concerns included problems with passports, challenges in the Malaysian job market, scams related to visa applications, fraudulent activities using the High Commission's name on social media and phone calls, options for returning home by paying fines, efforts to increase remittances, and ensuring a swift return to Bangladesh after serving prison sentences.
The High Commissioner emphasized the embassy's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by expatriates, assuring that this effort would continue in the future. He also encouraged expatriate journalists to report on issues concerning their community while maintaining the country's dignity.
Embassy officials, including Counselor GM Russell Rana, Counselor (Labour) Syed Shariful Islam, Council (Passport and Visa) Mia Mohammad Keyamuddin, and First Secretary (Press) Sufi Abdullahil Maruf, were present during the discussion along with the expatriate journalists.
