Bangamata is the source of inspiration for Bengalis: High Commissioner Mohammad Shahidul Islam

On August 8, the Bangladesh High Commission in Malaysia organized a function on the occasion of the 90th birth anniversary of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesa Mujib. On the occasion of this day, Defense Advisor Commodore Mushtaq Ahmed and Deputy High Commissioner Wahida Ahmed read out the speeches delivered by President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
On the occasion, High Commissioner Shahidul Islam, paying homage to Bangamata, highlighted the significance and importance of this day and said that, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesa Mujib has given inspiration and courage to Bangabandhu throughout his life.
On the one hand, she has brought up his family and children, she has inspired the struggle for freedom and liberation. Rehabilitated oppressed helpless women after independence. She is the image of ancient Bengal and the source of inspiration for
Bengalis.
In the interest of the country, Bangabandhu had to be imprisoned innumerable times. Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib has faced those difficult days with patience and determination. In those turbulent days, she had to handle the case for her husband's release and give advice and support to the organizational work of the party. Inspired by Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib, Bangabandhu delivered the historic March 7th speech which was a call for independence and one of the best speeches
in the world. Infinite sacrifice, sympathy and cooperation for the country and the nation has anointed her as Bangamata.
The High Commissioner said that she had faced such a difficult situation on the battlefield with deep uncertainty and apprehension at the juncture of the life and death of her imprisoned husband in Pakistan in 1971. His contribution to the history of our liberation struggle and liberation war will be forever remembered.
He said that such a majestic woman had to be brutally martyred at the hands of her husband, son and daughter-in-law at her residence on the night of August 15, 1975, which is a scandalous chapter in the history of the nation.
The government of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to realize the dream of Bangamata Sheikh Faziltun Nesa Mujib and to build the golden Bengal of the dream of the father of the nation. Especially now women have made unprecedented improvements in their quality of life which has gained world recognition.
Labor Councilor Mohammad Zahirul Islam also spoke on the occasion. At the beginning of the program, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the departed soul of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesa Mujib, all the martyrs of August 15 and for the welfare of the country and the nation. Documentary about the life of Bangamata is displayed. The program was conducted by Md. Hedayetul Islam Mandal of Labor Council (Labor-II). In case of corona virus, the event is organized by following the SOP and following the social distance and hygiene rules.
