Family values should be given priority in moral education to prevent cyber crime : Lina
Sharmin Nahar Lina, Bangladesh correspondent of Protect Us Kids, a US-based organization for children’s cyber protection, and Ntv News Presenter said, “We need to create awareness by creating social movements through more and more campaigns.” The media and social media can play a very important role in this. Parents need to be friendly with their children. So that family ties will be strong and children will be able to keep themselves away from internet addiction.
She was speaking at a panel discussion on the occasion of the 6th founding anniversary of the Cyber Crime Awareness Foundation (CCA Foundation), a voluntary organization, on Friday (June 18).
Sharmin Nahar Lina further said that in order to ensure cyber security and learn about cyber, we have to make compulsory education through textbooks to our new generation from primary level. Family values and moral education may be the most effective way to combat cybercrime. Sharmin Nahar Lina calls for better awareness on marginalized children’s digital addiction.
