Presentation of identity card of Bangladesh High Commissioner to the King of Malaysia
High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Malaysia presented his identity card to the King of Malaysia.Shamim Ahsan.
On Wednesday (8 Novembor) , he presented his credentials as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Malaysia to the King of Malaysia Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’yatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Al-Mustai-in Billah at Rajdarbar Istana Negara.
After presenting the credentials, the King of Malaysia warmly congratulated Ahsan on his assumption of duty as High Commissioner and assured the High Commissioner of full cooperation during his tenure.
Meanwhile, the High Commissioner conveyed the greetings of the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh to the King of Malaysia. The King of Malaysia also extended his greetings to the President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The High Commissioner expressed his determination to take the existing excellent bilateral relations between the two countries to a new height. The King of Malaysia expressed satisfaction with the existing cooperation between the two countries in trade, education, tourism, cultural capacity-building and other areas and expressed hope to strengthen the relationship between the two countries by expanding the areas of cooperation.
The ‘Prestige Guard’ of the Rajdarbar formally saluted the High Commissioner before presenting the credentials. At the end of the ceremony, the High Commissioner joined other ambassadors for lunch. During the joint discussion, the High Commissioner thanked Malaysia for being the first country in Southeast Asia to recognize the independence of Bangladesh. High Commissioner Ahsan thanked the Malaysian government for providing employment opportunities to a large number of Bangladeshis.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia Datuk Mohd Bin Alamin, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato Seri Amran Bin Mohd Zain, Head of Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, senior officials of the Royal Court and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia.
Note that currently the bilateral trade between the two countries is over four billion dollars and Malaysia is the 8th largest investor in Bangladesh.
