Bangladeshi model Ananya Afrin has returned home after winning the 'Miss Star Universe' crown in Malaysia.

The international fashion carnival and awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, August 20, at the luxurious five-star Royal Chulan Hotel in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur. In this competition, she achieved the glory of becoming the champion by outperforming contestants from nine countries around the world.

The chief guest at the event was Dr. B.N. Reddy, the Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia. Special guests included Anand Shankeshwar, Chairman of the VRL Group; Sukanta Suman, head of London's Genius Award and Prince Multimedia International; Dato Mijan Sah; India's popular playback singer Sachin; actors Sai Kumar and Prema; as well as distinguished personalities, celebrities, and entrepreneurs from more than 11 countries, including Bangladesh.

The organizer of the event, Charm Suda Ventures, Miss Universe 2019, stated that the Star Universe 2025 beauty pageant featured competitions in two categories: Miss and Mrs. A total of nine contestants advanced to the grand finale. The winners were announced based on the votes of the judges and jury. In the Miss Star Universe category, Miss Esha Dutta (Dubai) won; in the Mrs. Star Universe category, Dr. Sajina Khan (Dubai) won; in the Mrs. Star Universe Diamond category, Yuba won; in the Mrs. Star Universe Silver category, Shilpa Malo (Malaysia) won; in the Miss Star Universe Classic category, Ananya Afrin (Bangladesh) won; and in the Miss Star Universe Diamond category, Othoi Afrin Aksha won.

The crowns were placed on the winners' heads by the event organizer, Charm Suda Ventures, Miss Universe 2019.

After winning the crown, Ananya Afrin said, "I thank the Creator, my mother, and my teacher, Piyal Bhai, for this success. I am proud to have been able to raise the flag of my country on an international stage at the Miss Star Universe competition. This achievement is not just mine, but belongs to all of Bangladesh. Please pray that I can continue to bring glory to the country in the future."

At the event, speakers described Ananya Afrin's international achievement as a glorious success for Bangladesh and wished her well for her future endeavors.
