Orientation and Cultural Festival for Bangladeshi Students Held in Malaysia

The largest welcome ceremony and cultural festival of the year for Bangladeshi students enrolled in the 2025-26 academic year in Malaysia was held with their participation.
This grand event was organized by the Bangladeshi Students Organization Malaysia (BSOM) on Saturday, 30th August, at the G-Tower Hallroom in Kuala Lumpur.
The event was chaired by BSOM President Asadullah Al Galib Rabbi and hosted by the organization’s Vice President Asif Rahman. The lively hosting was conducted by Adiba Ahmed and Sabrina Suchana.
The chief guest of the orientation ceremony was Professor Asif Mahbub Karim, Dean of Binary University. Special guests included BSOM Advisor Dr. Mohammad Shariful Islam, who praised the organization's role in enhancing students' leadership and cultural skills. Other guests included Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam, CIP Ruhul Amin, prominent businessman Jasim Uddin, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Mabud, former presidents Md. Al Amin Sarkar and Ahmed Reza.
Event coordination was managed by Abdur Rahman Shafi, Topazzal Hossain, Mehedi Hasan, Salma Akter, Shahidul Islam Pintu, Ayesha Siddiqua, Fariha Mehejabin, and others.
The event turned festive with the presence of Bangladeshi and international students from over 40 universities and states. Nearly four hundred participants attended, including teachers, members of the expatriate Bangladeshi community, student council representatives, and international guests.
The cultural segment featured songs, poetry, dance, magic shows, and various performances that captivated the audience. The event also included stalls of traditional Bangladeshi food, creating a nostalgic experience for students living abroad.

Established in 2014, BSOM has been playing an effective role in promoting education, culture, and unity among Bangladeshi students abroad. The organization plans to conduct even larger-scale activities in the future.
