Manzurul Karim Appointed as Bangladesh's New High Commissioner to Malaysia

Diplomat Manzurul Karim Khan Choudhury has taken charge as Bangladesh's new High Commissioner to Malaysia. He officially assumed his responsibilities on Monday (October 6) and reported to the office for the first day of work today, according to sources at the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.
Manzurul Karim, who was appointed as the replacement for Shameem Ahsan, is an officer from the 17th BCS (Foreign Affairs) cadre. After joining the diplomatic service in 1998, he has served as an Ambassador in several important missions, including Myanmar and Iran. Furthermore, he has also served in missions in Istanbul, London, Rome, and Bandar Seri Begawan. Most recently, he served as the Director General of the South Asia Wing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A native of Habiganj, Manzurul Karim completed his undergraduate degree in engineering and later obtained a Master's degree in Geopolitics and Global Security from La Sapienza University in Rome. Colleagues have remarked that this academic qualification has significantly enriched him in his diplomatic career.
