Bangladeshi Students Unite at UPM’s Vibrant Cultural Event

The Bangladeshi Students’ Association of University Putra Malaysia (BSA UPM) organized a vibrant cultural event on Saturday, 27 July, at 3:30 PM at Bukit Expo Field, beginning with a traditional array of Bangladeshi mashed delicacies (bharta). The event aimed to rekindle the cultural ties and sense of kinship among Bangladeshi students living abroad.
Students from University Malaya (UM) and Asia Pacific University (APU) also participated, fostering stronger inter-university friendships. The presence of several international students further added a touch of global camaraderie to the celebration.
In his speech, BSA UPM President Imran Farhad remarked, “Though we study at different institutions, we are one family abroad. Our goal is to create a sense of unity among Bangladeshi students across every corner of Malaysia.” The event was graced by the association’s advisers Shah Ahmed Reza and S. M. Ashibur Hasnat Sadi. The gathering included interactive discussions, casual hangouts, and games, offering students a joyful break from academic stress. Many attendees expressed their hopes for similar events to be held regularly in the future.
Leaders from BSA UPM and BSA UM jointly announced plans to collaborate on future initiatives that promote Bangladeshi education, culture, and unity in Malaysia.
Students shared their belief that this reunion served as a refreshing escape after the semester and would help strengthen bonds during the upcoming long vacation.
