Malaysian Businessman Iqbal Named Second Top Remittance Warrior in Cumilla

Mohammad Iqbal Hossain (Ishaq), a distinguished businessman based in Malaysia, has been recognized as Cumilla district's top remittance sender. By sending the highest amount of remittances to Bangladesh through Agrani Bank PLC's Chandina branch, he has been honored as the district's second-best "Remittance Warrior."
On Saturday morning (August 2), as part of Remittance Warrior Day-2025, Iqbal Hossain was felicitated with flowers and a crest at the Deputy Commissioner's conference hall in an event organized by the District Employment and Manpower Office, Technical Training Center, Probashi Kallyan Bank, and Probashi Kallyan Center Cumilla. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Pankaj Barua presented the honor. Three other remittance warriors were also recognized at the ceremony.
Mohammad Iqbal Hossain Ishaq said, "I have been running businesses in Malaysia for many years. My six companies employ around 4,500 workers. I personally send money to Bangladesh through formal banking channels and encourage my workers to avoid informal 'hundi' systems and instead use banks. This helps strengthen the country's economy."
"By sending remittances through Agrani Bank's Chandina branch, I have been named the second-highest remittance warrior in the district. This achievement brings pride to me and the people of Chandina," he added.
Mohammad Iqbal Hossain (Ishaq), a Malaysian expatriate, hails from Keshera village in Gallai Union, Chandina Upazila, Cumilla. The prominent businessman is also actively involved in various social welfare activities in Chandina.
